Ms. Shauna

Shauna has an incredible passion for helping children grow and develop their faith in God. With over 5 years of success in the childcare industry her compassion, loving kindness and enthusiasm for teaching children continues to ignite a fire in her heart. Shauna loves spending time with friends and family, hiking, volunteering at church and building her relationship with Jesus. She is honored to join Starting Blocks Preschool and be a part of growing their great mission.

My name is Ms. Laura and I have had the wonderful privilege of being a preschool

teacher for 17 years. Teaching and working with young children, has been such a rewarding experience and has always filled my life with joy! In addition to teaching, I have also been blessed to be a part of a preschool administration team, for the past 11 years. In this role, I was given the opportunity to do something else that I love, which is helping others. My husband and I, along with our two sons, have been a part of the Anthem community for 18 years. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, hiking, and baking. In this new journey, I look forward not only to meeting all of the families and their beautiful children but to help each child grow in faith and knowledge.

Ms. Evelyn has always taken immense joy and satisfaction in teaching small children. Growing up in Louisiana, she became an aunt at a very young age and grew up helping to look after her nieces and nephew. After spending 9 years in office management, she began working in schools shortly after her two children began school. After teaching kindergarten enrichment for two years, she found her passion in preschool and spent the next four years teaching 4-year-old pre-kindergarten. Evelyn is overjoyed to have the opportunity to join Starting Blocks Preschool and help to provide a wonderful beginning to the children’s academic journey while also sharing the love of God.

 Hi, I'm Ms. Cynthia, I have 3 children of my own and raised 3 stepchildren, all are grown. I have11 grand-babies my oldest is 18. I am also native to Arizona. I had the pleasure of Para teaching in early elementary schools for 26 years. My first experience in teaching was through Montessori schools where I was trained as an assistant educator . I placed my youngest, now 26-year-old daughter in a Montessori school at age three and she flourished . I also was a substitute teacher in kindergarten through 5th grade and loved it . I've had the pleasure of coaching middle/ high school girls' softball which was amazing.

My name is Ms. Taylor and one of my biggest passions in life is being able to work with children and watch them learn and grow! I have a Bachelors Degree in Marketing from Northern Arizona University. I am thrilled to be able to incorporate Christian values alongside the Starting Blocks academic curriculum. I have been a coach and worked in children’s ministry at a local church, as well as working 3 summers while in college at a Montessori school caring for students 1-5 yrs old. In my free time I enjoy reading, watching sports, quality time with family & friends, & spending time with the Lord. I cannot wait to get to know each of your amazing kids! 

My name is Ms. E’Lyka and I have had the honor of working in the preschool setting for the last 15 years. Working with children has always been a passion of mine and I’m excited to continue my teaching journey with Starting Blocks. Outside of work, I spend most of my time with my husband and our twin boys. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends, working out, and reading. I’m thrilled to be joining the Starting Blocks community. 

My name is Ms. Hannah and I have always found fulfillment in working with young children. Growing up, I volunteered with the children's ministry at my local church and tutored kindergarten and elementary school students. While earning my bachelor's degree in Biology from Northern Arizona University, I realized my passion for teaching and inspiring a love of learning. In my free time, I love to get creative! I enjoy playing music, singing, and creating art. I am excited for the opportunity to nurture creativity, knowledge, and faith in these curious young minds.

Ms. Stacey is so excited to be meeting lots of new friends at Starting Blocks Preschool. She has 11 years of childcare experience, with 6 years being exclusively in preschool. She enjoys working with this age group and finds their eagerness and excitement to learn and try new things to be a rewarding experience. Mrs. Stacey is a mother of two, and enjoys spending time with family and friends, and finding a quiet spot with a good book and coffee.  

My name is Ms. Jocelyn and I have had the opportunity to work with children for 4+ years as a lead and assistant teacher for toddlers-school age. Teaching and guiding young minds is a blessing I get to experience every day! Outside of the classroom, I extend my knowledge through college and strive to complete my degree in Early Childhood Education. I enjoy spending all the free time I have with my wonderful son doing self care activities like nice long walks around the neighborhood, having picnics, visiting friends and family and most importantly enjoying the presence of the Lord together. I am excited for this new journey with Starting Blocks knowing the great team and support they have for everyone to grow right alongside with the children. 

I have 4 children and 8 wonderful Grandchildren. I have over 8 years experience of working in childcare as a lead and assistant teacher, primarily ages 3-4 year olds. I retired from USAA as a customer service representative in 2016 and decided I needed to do something more, so I went to work at a Montessori School and I have been teaching ever since. I am happy to be part of the Starting Blocks team and look forward to working with your precious children. 

My name is Celene and I have a genuine love for being around children and find great joy in supporting their growth, curiosity, and creativity. As a parent of two children, I understand the importance of patience, structure, and nurturing each child’s unique personality. In addition to my experience at home, I have had the privilege of serving with children through my church, where I’ve learned the value of compassion, encouragement, and leading by example. Rooted in faith, I strive to create a safe, loving, and positive environment where children feel valued, supported, and excited to learn each day.

Hi, I'm Ms. Lena (Layna) and I have always found joy and inspiration in being with children as they bring so much wonder and awe into this world. I have 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren spread across 2 countries; Norway and the USA. I have a bachelor's degree in International Marketing and have worked as a language teacher for kids from 5 and up, I've been a nanny for 3 families, managed clothing stores, been a special events coordinator, been a fraud specialist, and led the children's ministry at my church for a time.Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my husband and family here in Arizona, reading books and participating in book club, working on the board of a non-profit, traveling, sewing, and enjoying nature. I believe that we all are wonderfully and marvelously made, and look forward to seeing how each child’s unique gifts and spirit shine through the wonderful design of our Creator.
